Very nervous and hard game between Slovenia and Croatia was played in front of the full packed stands. In the first half Croatia played a a bid better and won the half with 8:14. Second half was very nervous with some great defense and goal kicking from both sides. The only try of the second half was scored when Slovenian captain Slapnicar intercepted the pass and ran for 50m to score a crucial try for Slovenia.

This win for Slovenia and draw between Denmark and Switzerland means, that group B2 of FIRA -AER competition is very tight and everyone can win it.



Slovenia loses to Austria 06/10
The Slovenian national team played a freindly match against Austrian national team in Wiena and lost 17:0.

Next week Slovenia plays Croatia in Ljubljana.



Final of the Middle European cup
Ljubljana (Slovenia), 30.8.2003

RK Ljubljana : TJ Prague 30:18 (15:11)


After several attempts RK Ljubljana finally become the champions of the Middle-European cup. It was a hard and close game, with some good rugby shown by both sides. RK Ljubljana scored their first try of the match in 5th minute after nice break from the backs and then another try in 20th and 35th minute.

Prague soon replyed with two penalty kicks an a try. In second half Ljubljana increased their lead with two more trys and a panetly, and Prague only managed to score a try at the end of the match.


Balkan Intra League: 26/08

The Balkan region have created a new competition to give their players a higher standard of competition.

About new Slovenian-Croatian-Bosnian Intra league:

The league will kick off on the 6th of September and will be called the INTRA league.

There will be 9 teams: 5 from Croatia (Split, Makarska, Zagreb, Mladost and Sisak), 3 from Slovenia (Ljubljana, Emoona and Bezigrad) an 1from Bosnia (Zenica).

For next season there are some plans to include maybe some teams from Austria and Hungary.

Also: This Saturday Slovenian champions RK Ljubljana will play in the final of central european championship against TJ Praga. The game will be held in Ljubljana, kick off at 4.00 pm.



Llanelli Scarlets to go into camp in Slovenia 25/07
Next week (Saturday the 2nd of July) Welsh Regional Team the LAnelli Llanelli Scarlets, the semi finalist of Heineken cup, are coming to Ljubljana for 8 days for a pre-season rugby camp, with all their big stars such as Scot Quinell, Simon Easterby,Selley,... They will train twice a day at the RFC Ljubljana rugby field and on Thursday will play a friendly training match against a team selection of Slovenia.


Slovenia Rugby Round up: 29/06

It is the end of the season for Slovenian rugby, except rugby 7 team which are in Budapest this weekend. In August RFC Llanelli Scarlets from Wales are coming to in Ljubljana (as they did last year) for a one week training camp, and Slovenia will play a friendly match against the semi-finalist of this years Heineken cup.

The Slovenian national team has been placed in group 2B of European rugby this season won against Belgium away and drawn against Switzerland at home.

Next season Slovenian and Croatian clubs will play joint league which will start in September. Heavensgame will bring you full details closer to the start of the the league.



Slovenia Champions: 19/06

RK Ljubljana is new (old) champion of Slovenia. They beat RK Bezigrad in the last game of Slovenian championship with 82:3.

It was successful season for Ljubljana as they won all 12 games of their championship, and with wins over RK Makarska (Croatina) and RK Celik (Bosnia)they are the finalist of Middle Europe Champions Cup, witch final will be sometime in September in Ljubljana.



FIRA-A.E.R. Regions Cup 03/06

B&H 6 – 15 Slovenia

This was a bruising encounter.The Slovenian side proved to be just ahead on the day scoring 2 tries and a penalty goal. In reply B&H converted 2 penalty goals themselves.

B&H were always in the match but made crucial errors at vital times allowing Slovenia to get off the hook and come away with a win.
